The Panama Canal Appreciates the Support for Prince of Asturias Awards Nomination

Panama City, Panama, June 12, 2013 - The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) would like to thank all the people and organizations that supported and endorsed the Canal's nomination to the 2013 Prince of Asturias Awards for International Cooperation.

"The Panama Canal's nomination to this prestigious award represents the recognition of the capacity and commitment of Panamanians to make the waterway a symbol well-being for the country and world unity," Panama Canal Administrator Jorge L. Quijano said. "We would like to thank all the people that presented and supported the Canal's nomination."

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) recognizes the affection and support of more than 34,000 people and dozens of organizations that through their signatures and promotion joined the one-month campaign in support of the Panama Canal's nomination. The Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science was awarded the well-deserved recognition.
