New Advisory Board Member Visits the Panama Canal

Date: 04-MAY-2001

Panama, May 4, 2001. The Panama Canal Advisory Board's newest member, Armando Codina, visited the waterway for the first time this week.

Codina's stay in Panama included meetings with Canal Administrator Alberto Aleman Zubieta and the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) Board of Directors, during which he was informed about Canal widening and modernization projects.

Codina also had the opportunity to tour some of the Canal's Atlantic and Pacific facilities. During a tour of the Miraflores Locks, the Advisory Board's newest member learned about Canal operations and visited the locks' control house and massive tunnels. ACP board member Emanuel Gonzalez-Revilla accompanied Codina during a flyover of Canal operating areas and Colon ports.

Armando Codina is the founder and chairman of the Codina Group, based in Coral Gables, Florida, U.S.A. The group was founded in 1979 and has proven expertise in investment, development, construction, brokerage and real estate administration. Known as South Florida's best full-service real estate company, the Codina Group was also recognized by Florida Trend Magazine as Florida State's largest commercial real estate developer in 1998.
