Durante la conferencia se presentarán las experiencias de diseño y de ejecución de proyectos como el Saneamiento de la Bahía de Panamá, el proyecto hidroeléctrico Tocoma en Venezuela, la falla de los diques de Nueva Orleáns

  durante el Huracán Katrina, los principales proyectos de dragado en el planeta, los sistemas de cimentación de los edificios más altos del mundo, así como otros proyectos que se desarrollan en Panamá.

En los últimos años, la República Panamá ha fortalecido su posición como el centro de transporte de las Américas y su economía es una de las más pujantes de la región. La ampliación del Canal de Panamá ha sido galardonada como el proyecto de infraestructura más importante de esta década.

This keynote presentation will address best practices and lessons learned in management of the $14.6 Billion New Orleans Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System constructed following Hurricane Katrina (2005), as well as, major lock and dam projects under construction in other regions of the United States.

In 2003 President Bush promised President Karzai that Afghanistan's Highway One, a virtually impassable 482 km (300 mile) connection from Kabul to Kandahar, would be paved by year end. In April 2003, the Louis Berger Group was told "to make it true". LBG had eight months to build a road on a heavily mined track, passing through regions still under Taliban threat. Three decades of fighting had left Afghanistan without any national construction capacity: no equipment, no labor pool, no materials sources, no contractors,. This is the story of how LBG addressed the risks to bring the project in on time.
